KILL THE CLUTTER … IN 5 MINUTES A DAY

Spring is here … and that means spring-cleaning! But that doesn’t have to mean hours and hours of intense cleaning. You’d be amazed at how much you can accomplish in just 5 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

The 5-minute purge makes a big difference. Here’s how:

1. Set a timer for 5 minutes.

2. Grab a medium-sized trash bag. You’ll use this to throw things away or drop them off at Goodwill or give them to someone, whichever makes more sense for you.

3. Pick your target. Make sure to keep it small so you can be thorough, like one drawer in the kitchen, one shelf of books or DVDs, your office desktop, etc.

4. Toss anything you haven’t used in 6-12 months. Things you felt like you needed to keep yesterday you may be able to toss today. Be ruthless!

5. When the timer goes off, STOP. If the bag is full, put it in the trash or in your car to drop off at Goodwill). If the bag isn’t full, keep it nearby so you can fill it the next day.

I’m looking for any edge I can get.  I’m on this mad quest to improve my tennis game and have been putting in the time to see improvements.  At 50 my flexability is not what it used to be, plus I can feel myself tensing up during critical moments on the court.  I bought the DVD this weekend called “Yoga for Tennis”.  I watched it last night (didn’t work out to it, just watched it) and it looks pretty tough–real tough.  I believe it’s what I need to do to get to that next step.

Here’s a great video about the mind body connection:

We all know that videos featuring cats or babies are always cute, right? So what happens when you get a video featuring a cat and a baby? Why, you get one of the cutest videos ever, right? In this one, a baby squares off with the household pet for a little Greco-Roman wrestling.

On my 16th birthday, on of my most memorable , I received a Poloroid Camera!!  You remember , the one where you put in the film, took the picture and out it popped, you shook it for a minute or so and presto, you had a picture, no developing required!!  Now in the digital age the camera stopped production a few years ago, but do to popular demand Poloroid is bringing it back!!  Check out the details here!!  Below are pictures of the new remodeled Poloroid Camera!  Will you be getting one?

This one is my favorite!! I love green, it's my favorite color!!

This one looks fun too!!

I always seem to lay low during SXSW!!  I am fortunate enough to meet so many wonderful music artists and see them perform during the year,so I don’t feel the need to deal with the crowds that flock to Austin every year for the fantastic event!  This year however I decided to live dangerously and go with my lovely daughter to the Perez Hilton SXSW party at the Whitley on Saturday night!  I braved the freezing temps and stood in line for over an hour to get in, but it was worth it and so much fun!!  Here are some pictures of my experience below.  Thanks to Rony’s Photo Booth for the pictures!!

My daughter Katie and I arrive at the Perez Hilton Party!

We all knew who threw this party!!

Perez Hilton! He's looking great and he wore shorts despite the freezing temps!!

I'm in there somewhere!! Snoop Dog was on stage!!

The lady DJ's at the party did their work on heals on top of cases!! What we women must endure!!

Does winning a Best Actress Oscar mean the end of your marriage?  I would hope that it’s not true, but with Kate Winslet, last year’s winner and Sandra Bullock, this year ’s winner both have marriage issues this week , it really makes you wonder!  These two are not the first to have these issues either.  A few years ago 2 time winner Hilary Swank ended her marriage and Reese Witherspoon did too!   Here is a interesting look at Best Actress winners and their luck in the romance department!

I think Kate should date her Titanic co-star Leonardo Dicaprio!!

Curse or no curse, I do think that powerful women have a hard time being married when they seem to out shine their significant other’s.   It makes me mad and sad though, how do you feel  about it?
