Instead of pumping Iron, it's Pumping BonesSomeone sent me a copy of this pooch saying that it was from the Russian Secret Service. I went to my favorite rumour, scam, urban legend debunking site SNOPES and got the real answer.

Wendy, the bully whippet in this photograph, lives in Victoria, British Columbia, and is remarkable even for a bully whippet in that she has two mutated copies of the gene and is therefore a “double-muscled” bully whippet who weighs twice as much as a standard whippet. She was the subject of a number of news features in mid-2007, including articles in the New York Times, the UK’s Daily Mail, and the Victoria Times Colonist, the latter of which described her thusly:

Wendy is a 27-kilogram rippling mass of muscle. Forget the so-called six-pack stomach: Wendy has a 24-pack. And the muscles around her neck are so thick, they look like a lion’s ruff.

“People have referred to her as Arnold Schwarzenegger,” says doting owner Ingrid Hansen, stroking Wendy’s sleek black coat and white chest.

I can’t wait for you to eat at The Emerald Restaurant!!  I have been in Austin for a little over 4 years now and this is by far the best meal I have ever eaten!  The little Austin gem of a restaurant is family owned and operated and has been in Austin for 26 years!

Chef Dave, me and his lovely sister Marie! Look how cute my leftovers look!!

If you have a special occasion coming up , make sure you take advantage of My Austin Perk this week!  It’s a $50 gift certificate to The Emerald for just $25!  This would be the perfect place to take mom for Mother’s Day!  I know these are going to go fast so get yours now, you can even print the gift certificate right at your desk!

One of the Emerald's specialties is the Roast Duck!!

Check out the video of my fantastic dining experience at The Emerald Restaurant!  You can also visit their website here! A big thanks to David (the Chef) and his sister Michelle for the wonderful hospitality!  I will never forget this meal!!  Enjoy this one of a kind dining experience for yourself!

Last weekend, two college teams, Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic, took advantage of the inclement weather and put on a talent show. There were dance-offs, wrestling matches, theatrical performances — basically what you’d expect to find at a traveling carnival.

This is the difference between PRO and Amateur sports. The insane thing is that if this was MLB, the players would have gotten in trouble from their team because they probably would have voilated some sort of clause in their contract, because “may” have gotten hurt doing this. They probaby also would have gotten in trouble from the league for it as well.

Our Beautiful Mother Earth!

Last Fall I had the chance to work with the wonderful Hill Country Conservancy!  The staff of Majic 95.5 and our sister stations helped to plant trees and it was a fantastic experience.  They have compiled a list of things to do to help the planet all around the city!  This is a wonderful guide on where to eat , drink and help out our dear mother earth!!

Majic 95.5 is part of Entercom Austin and we have a wonderul website that will help us keep our earth happy for years to come.  It’s called 1ThingAustin!  Check it out, we are proud of it and won our company’s first Greenie Award this year!!  Happy Earth Day everyone!!

Since the launch of the iPad, we human beings have debated back and forth on whether this is the next thing that will change the world, or just one big flop.

But who says animals can’t weigh in on this subject? Check out the link below featuring two videos of a cat and a dog trying out Apple’s latest product. As you will see, their reactions are totally opposite of each other (no surprise there, right)?

Who’s right? Well, you decide.

Wow! William Shatner is still enjoying the spotlight. Last night on Lopez Tonight, the former “Captain Kirk” duetted with the “Taiwanese Susan Boyle,” Lin Yu Chun, on the ’80s classic “Total Eclipse.”

I have to admit this year that DWTS has been more interesting and exciting to watch than American Idol.  The drama on DWTS has been over the top this season , and American Idol , even with the addition of Ellen has been , well…boring!  Last night was  a big exception though with front runner  Crystal Bowersox, better know as Mama Sox to her fellow contestants did an emotional rendition of “People Get Ready”.  She broke down and shed a few tears near the end of the song which was already an emotional performance.  And Kate Gosselins run on DWTS finally , and thankfully came to an end last night.  Get out your Kleenex and watch both performances below if you missed them!

We get pictures from everywhere, phones, friends, relatives and use them for a myriad of diffrent reasons, email, texts, printing, reports and sometimes you need to edit them. You know, to crop out an ex, brighten-up a dark shot or to add a crazy effect.

I know of and have used two FREE online photo editors and they are easy.

The first is called PicniK, it’s simple, basic, free and fun.

The second one is called Lunapic and while it does all the same things as Picnik, it has a lot more special effects.
Here are some samples:

We can all agree that it’s not nice to laugh at other people’s sorrow, but have you seen this video? It’s a clip taken from a recent episode of A-&-E’s Intervention, showing a heart-wrenching scene between a father and his son. Viewers had tears welling up in their eyes until they heard the father cry. So while it’s usually wrong to laugh at others’ pain, I say go ahead this time. I’ll give you a pass.

Majic 95.5 wonders what famous people would have had on their ipods. Today we go back to Nero, who became Emperor of Rome before his 17th birthday. Emperor Nero supposedly played his fiddle while Rome burned in 64 AD. Alas, Romans did not have the fiddle at this point in history but it is a good story. Most historians believe he actually sang as Rome burned. So, it only makes sense that Nero would have needed some inspiration as he looked down on the furnace that Rome had become in July of that year. What would he be rockin’ to? Here’s what we think…what would you add to the list?

Light My Fire – The Doors

Fire – The Ohio Players

Disco Inferno – The Trammps

The Flame – Cheap Trick

Fire on the Mountain – Marshall Tucker Band

Smoke on the Water – Deep Purple

Burnin’ For You – Blue Oyster Cult

Fire and Ice – Pat Benatar

Burning Down the House – Talking Heads

Fire – Pointer Sisters

Keep the Fire Burning – REO Speedwagon

Burnin’ Love – Elvis Pressley

Old Flame – Alabama
