Most of us have fun plans this Memorial Day weekend: grilling, going out on the lake, visiting family and friends in and out of town. Like many other three-day weekends, it’s a chance to get away from the pressures and stress of work and life.

But this isn’t just another three-day weekend. It’s a time to reflect on what many of our American soldiers have sacrificed for our freedom. It’s the ultimate sacrifice: their lives. So while we’re having fun with our activities and families this weekend, let’s not forget those who died for us to have the freedoms we have, or their families who carry on their legacy.

Check out these video clips about Memorial Day from the History Channel:

I love Willie's new look! No more high maintenance!!

So the big newsmaker in the hair department this morning is Austin’s own Willie Nelson.  He was basically tired of the maintenance!!  While Willie’s braided pigtails were a trademark, I love the new look!!  Who can wear pigtails and who can’t?  Seventeen Magazine put up a great infographic chart to show us!!  I think the pictures speak for themselves!  Enjoy!

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – Country music fans have come to expect a little eccentricity from legendary crooner Willie Nelson, but he pulled off a real shocker this time: He cut his hair.

“Oh Noooooo!,” wrote one fan who saw a picture of Nelson’s new do on the website of Nashville television and radio personality Jimmy Carter.

Nelson’s waist-deep, reddish pigtails have long been one of the singer-songwriter’s signature features. But spokeswoman Elaine Schock said Nelson, who’s been hanging loose in Hawaii, got his hair cut in the past couple of weeks.

Schock said the Texas-born performer didn’t make a big fuss about the makeover and thought he might have grown tired of dealing with long locks. She said, “there’s a lot of maintenance.”

Emperor of France 1769-1821 One of the most brilliant individuals in history, Napoleon Bonaparte was a masterful soldier, an unequalled grand tactician and a superb administrator. He was also utterly ruthless, a dictator and, later in his career, thought he could do no wrong. He was only 5’ 7” tall.

I know this is silly that I like this so much.  It’s a nice break from the real world.
Achieving world peace may still be an extremely lofty and unattainable goal, but you’ve got to feel a little better about our chances after watching this video. A cat and a dog, sworn enemies since the beginning of cats and dogs, are not only getting along but they’re making out like they’re at a junior high dance.
